For all Students of the IAW the possibility exists to participate in professional training at our main International and US Headquarters. The study is accomplished in trimesters, in the months January to March, May to July, and September to November at the main IAW HQ. The trimester schedule for the United States follows according and can be seen at www.iaw-us.com. In the study sessions specified below, all WingChun students who have reached the prerequisite Student Level can train certification up to the stage of the Instructor Degree II. After conclusion of the respective training, the students can announce themselves as candidates for the appropriate examination.
The examination dates are thrice yearly, and are posted in advance on the www.iaw-hq.com and www.iaw-us.com websites.

For the study of the Diploma of WingChun Instructor, the following specific conditions apply. This Diploma Examination is at present reserved only for teachers and Academy Leaders of many years and can only be achieved after private instruction preparation. The examination dates are agreed upon as required.

A condition for leading a group of the IAW is the 11. Student Level and the successful completion of the final examination for Degree of an Assistant Instructor. The Leader of an Academy of the IAW requires the graduation of 1. Technician Degree and the previous completion of Instructor Degree I.

Sifu of WingChun

 

The title "Sifu" (exactly translated as "Master") is the highest title in the martial arts field and is regarded as recognition of the achievement of a successful Instructor and Academy Leader.

A Sifu can be any Academy Leader who has attained a WingChun Diploma and instructs at least 80 WingChun students. The graduation prerequisite is the 3rd Technician Grade.
